We are proud to share incredible news and ongoing progress that mark a turning point in the strength, unity, and future of the union printing trades in New York.
As newly elected President Pat LoPresti and Executive Vice President Mike Laspina of the NYC Allied Printing Council, we’re excited to announce that we are entering discussions to merge with the NYS Allied Printing Council, led by President Chris Erickson. This merger will bring together the resources, experience, and vision of our two powerful councils to create a more unified, efficient, and impactful organization.
But that’s just the beginning. We are also entering early talks to bring in the Albany Allied Printing Council, with the goal of forming one strong, statewide Allied Printing Council that truly represents union printers across all of New York.
This merger is about more than structure—it’s about solidarity. It’s about building strength in numbers, uniting our voices, and protecting the rights and livelihoods of our members in every region. When we stand together, we are more powerful in negotiations, more visible in politics, and more capable of adapting to the challenges of a changing industry.
