This month, as we recognize Women’s History Month, it is important to reflect on how far women in our union have come. The women who stood before us years ago helped build the foundation we stand on today. At a time when the workplace and unions themselves were often dominated by men, they showed strength, determination, and courage. They organized, spoke up, and fought for fairness, respect, and opportunity. Their commitment helped open doors that once seemed closed.
Because of their perseverance, the women in our shops today are able to continue that legacy with pride. The new generation of union women carries forward the same spirit of hard work, resilience, and solidarity that defined those who came before them. Every day, they prove that strength, skill, and leadership have no boundaries.
Our union is stronger because of the women who paved the way and those who continue to lead today. We honor the trailblazers who fought to make their voices heard, and we celebrate the women in our workplaces who keep that momentum alive. Their dedication ensures that the values of unity, equality, and respect remain at the heart of our union for generations to come.
